SALOME
Illustration has the power to visualize a story’s message and control it. Poet and playwright Oscar Wilde knew this, a prime example is in his one-act tragedy, Salome, which captures how illustration changes the narrative and how the protagonist is portrayed. During my internship with The Wolfsonian–FIU, I was tasked to write a short article about any topic of my choice for their monthly blog. I chose to write about changes of a narrative through illustrative techniques by comparing artists, Alastair and Isami Doi. Both of their work is found within the The Wolfsonian–FIU, The Mitchell Wolfson, Jr. Collection.
